Reflections on our reality and being

“Vibrant colour palettes and composition bordering on the interactive characterise her highly emotive and deeply introspective works in land and on canvas. A sensory journey and metaphysical connection can be expected from the pieces on display in the gallery.”
Excerpt from the introduction to an art catalogue to one of the “PreNatal” exhibitions in 2001, Poland.

My Art
My artistic interests have continued to develop from a young age. The time I spent at the Institute of Art, University of Zielona Gora, Poland, 1995-1999, immersed me in a milieu that included such renowned artists and professors as Piotr Wolynski and Guy Borremans, my photography and multimedia instructors. These two figures had a major formative influence on me and helped me become aware of multiple contemporary approaches across a variety of mediums.

The people around us...
Being mostly interested in human interactions and in our collective doubts and uncertainties, I observe how society is consumed by ungrounded fears and unexpected changes. Although fully perceptible in time and emotion, we sometimes try to touch things that are intangible, indescribable, allegorical and ideal.

Humankind's advancement?
The idea of humankind evolving through centuries fascinates me. Where are we and have we reached civilisation? As a human, an individual, how do those around me affect me? I am not asking if we have wings.. Or in a way I am. Have we gained more happiness, fulfilment and compassion? Maybe it is time to show a human going further than simply his technological progress.

Materials
My responses differ in scale and methods, ranging from oil paintings to watercolours and also photography, installation and ephemeral art.

Teaching
I am also responsible for art classes and classes in the history of modern art in number 109 Pearse Street, where all those interested in “how to look at art and modern artefacts” are more than welcome. Our website is coming soon.
